We represent employees in workers’ compensation claims throughout the state of South Carolina. South Carolina’s workers’ compensation scheme is a no-fault system—thus, employees may have a claim regardless of fault. That means that if you have been injured at work and your employer is subject to the SC Workers’ Compensation Act, you may have a claim for medical benefits, loss of wages, and/or permanent impairment.
We handle a variety of employment law cases. Our practice areas include both state and federal employment law. We regularly handle claims involving overtime, wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and medical leave issues. We also handle indirect employment claims such as short term and long term disability claims as well as group health insurance claims.
We regularly practice construction law. We handle cases involving negligent construction, mechanics’ liens, “leaky” buildings and moisture-damage, termite damage, and mold damage.
We also handle education law matters—including matters involving illegal suspensions, expulsions and those concerning students with disabilities in the schoolhouse context.
